Room spec.

Amount of tanks and tank sizes:
2*500L, 6*300L, 2* 250L, 6*45L = 17 tanks

Racks:
Home made from aluminium and iron. The big rack was a safety rack that a company threw away.

Heating:
I heat the whole room

Lighting:
Individual lights for all tanks. 2 tubes in every tank. Only Aquastar and Triton .

Filtration:
Power heads with filter sponge in all tanks.

Electric installation:
Two groups. First with power for filtration. The second with timer for the lightning.

Flooring:
Clinker floor

Substrate:
3-5 mm rounded light sand. The same sand in every tank with thought of water values.

Interiors, (plants rock work):
One tank with modules from Back to Nature. The others are sparely decorated.

What could have been done better?
I really don’t know yet. The room is newly built. I have experience from 3 older fish rooms that I built.

Do you have a show tank in your livingroom?
Yea, a 600L tank with Malawi cichlids.

Fish

What cichlids do you keep?
Tropheus spec. “Ikola”
Tropheus moorii “Ilangi”
Tropheus spec. “Kachese” Tropheus duboisi “Maswa”
Tropheus spec. “Pemba”… and some other fishes that I do not intend to keep.

Your favourite fish in the room and why? (only one individual)
Don’t have any individual favourite yet. Think the Tropheus spec. “Ikola” is my favourite group.

Last fish purchased:
Tropheus spec. “Kachese”

Nr. 1. on your wish list:
I want new Tropheus sp. Ikola. Preferably from my own group that hopefully will start to breed again soon. My old ones are getting old and angry.

Waterchange frequency:
10-20% 3 times a week

Method of waterchanges:
Automatic

Smart gadgets to help working the room:
Theautomatic waterchanging system. I just love it.

Foods for fry and grown fish:
Home made shrimpmix, spirulina flakes, frosen cyclops, algea wafers and
granulate.
